Northern Suburbs
Johannesburg has dozens of northern suburbs, ranging in size from the huge and diverse Sandton, which includes the entire township of Alexandra, among other suburbs, to the smaller, leafy Saxonwold near the zoo. The northern suburbs highlighted here, in order from southernmost to northernmost, are by no means the only ones—they simply have the most attractions and are where most tourists stay.
