Amsterdam

Amsterdam: A good time! That’s what you’ll have in this beautiful capital of the Netherlands, which feels at once like a 17-century city and a bustling modern metropolis. Famous for its canals and extraordinary museums, Amsterdam is also an intimate city with strangely alluring streets and squares.

Cologne

Located on both sides of the Rhine river, Cologne (German: Köln) is the fourth most populous city in Germany. Cologne’s great Gothic Cathedral is a magnificent reminder of man’s ability to create exquisite art from stone. Its lacy twin spires and wonderful stained glass never fail to impress. Miraculously, the Cathedral escaped wartime destruction, unlike most of the city. The Old Town attracts visitors with excellent restaurants, lively taverns, bars and boutiques. The pedestrian-only Hohe-Strasse is a shopper’s paradise, and Eau de Cologne toilet water, trademarked 4711 (the former address), is world famous.

Geneva

Geneva is a cosmopolitan metropolis proud of her traditions. It is the international meeting place ofmany worldwide organizations including the United Nations and W.H.O. The symbol of the city, the Jet D’Eau is located on the picturesque lake which is surrounded by the splendid gardens and parks. The elegant city has an astonishing variety of boutiques and department stores filled with every imaginable item of quality local and imported merchandise. A fascinating history that traverses the passage of western Euopean history and features in a great many of the pivotal events, both pre and post Reformation serves as the foundation for this impeccable city on the picturesque shores of famous Lac
Léman, or Lake Geneva. The great reformer John Calvin enriched Geneva with material and spiritual wealth and – despite his 3 year fall from grace in 1538 – his doctrine of faith continued to draw many wealthy and intellectual fugitives to Geneva. Thanks to Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Geneva later became the focus of the European intellectual life. In fact, it was here that Rousseau made his preparations for the French Revolution.

A highly significant centre for finance, trade and industry, elegant and traditional Geneva is also possessed of lush parklands, eight picturesque bridges, quaint, winding streets and of course, the wonderful lake and her abundant treasures.

A walk through the old town spread out on the left bank of the Rhône yields a magical experience and an historical adventure. Most of the famous museums, the Opera, landmark buildings and imposing churches are found here.
After taking in the plethora of cultural sights and fascinating exhibits, the visitor can certainly look forward to a wonderful evening’s entertainment embracing perhaps theatre, music and opera and later on, try your luck at the Grand Casino on the Quai du Mont-Blanc.

Mainz

200 years ago, the stretch of the Rhine between Mainz and Bonn was discovered by artists and poets of the Romantic Movement in search of one of nature’s works of art. Mainz, the capital of Rhineland-Palatinate, has for centuries been known as the „Golden City” of Germany. Here, the Impressions and changing moods of the river landscape are reflected in the images and atmosphere of the city in a very special way. In the „Year of Romanticism of the Rhine”, Mainz offers a series of attractions which capture the particular charm of Mainz and its surrounding countryside.

Rüdesheim

Rüdesheim is a small, very quaint “Bavarian” village in Germany on the Rhine River. Points of interest include the Asbach Brandy Distillery, Cable-car to Niederwald Monument, Medieval Museum of Torture, a Falconry and many wine festivals throughout the year.
