Canton-wide public transport is clean, punctual, ubiquitous, and cheap. In fact, it's free if you're staying at a hotel or hostel, or if you're camping. Ask for your Geneva Transport Card at your lodging's front desk; it will give you free use of trains, buses, trams, and shuttle boats for the length of your stay.
